Personalised yet Privacy-first Recommendations: The TANGO Approach 

In this episode from our video series on TANGO’s key exploitable results, Ville Ollikainen from VTT – Technical Research Centre of Finland presents TANGO’s Recommender – a novel solution that delivers personalised recommendations without collecting or storing personal data. 

Unlike traditional engines, Recommender keeps all data securely on the user’s device, ensuring GDPR compliance by design. It learns from user interactions in real time and provides relevant suggestions while fully safeguarding privacy.

A pilot in the tourism use case illustrates the concept, but the approach can be applied widely across sectors where trustworthy and user-centric recommendations are needed.
